A win at the Castlemaine Rotary Art Show!

Last night with enormous surprise and gratitude I was awarded Best 3 Dimensional Art Work for my sculpture 'With Best Intentions' at the 2017 Castlemaine Rotary Art Show- 30th Annual Art Exhibition.

This is the first award I have received for my artwork and I am so pleased to be acknowledged for the hard work I have put in to developing my artistic practice.

Thank you Castlemaine Rotary and R&R McClure Evacuations for sponsoring this Prize.

I also sold my other sculpture I entered 'Water Is Life' and I am so happy she is going to a good home. I will miss her dearly.

The exhibition runs until Monday 12 June 2017 and is held at the Castlemaine Town Hall, Lyttleton Street, Castlemaine.

Check out all the amazing works of art!

Badge making workshop #2

We enjoyed making badges again. We experimented with decorative papers donated to the RAR Castlemaine Creative Arts Table from generous supporters in the community.

We also used the decorative papers to write messages. We aim to have the Badge making machine once a month. Join us next time for more badge making fun.

Badge making!

This week the Castlemaine RAR creative arts table had a special guest that brought along their badge making machine. We had a marvellous time making our own badges and badges for Castlemaine RAR. Our next badge making session will be in 5 weeks on Wednesday 19 April. Join us! ( Phee Broadway Theatre Foyer, 4-5pm)

More people approached the Letter writing table also. I wonder if our gorgeous table cloth invited them in?

Solidarity with Eaten Fish

The Castlemaine Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) Letter writing and creative arts table was back in action today with participants showing solidarity with Mr Eaten Fish. An award winning cartoonist from Iran languishing on Manus Island.

We made placards showing our solidarity with Mr Eaten Fish for the weekly vigil for refugees and Asylum Seekers, held on Wednesdays at the steps of the Market Building in Castlemaine, 7-8pm
